I need to get it across the room so that it can reach from my internet port to my XBOX so I need to know how to run it up there. So, what’s the best way to hold it up?
What is the best way to run an internet cable along the wall and ceiling?

Assuming you can’t hide inside the wall (or above ceiling or under floor), it depends whether you want to just run it, or hide it. If the former, use wire staples (available for telephone/coax wire in the form of a nail and plastic “U’ … see first link). If you want a neater approach … but more expensive … use wiring channel. See 2nd link.

if its against drywall i would use cable staples,
but if you want something a little less obvious just get a small short nail and put it in at an angle so it supports the cable, easy to hide and fill when taking out.
hope this helps.

Have you considered going wireless?
