Is there a way to bypass BT’s block on users who have outstanding bills?

My friend is with bt and has an outstanding bill with bt, so when he opens Internet explorer it displays some sort of ‘contact our billing department’ screen and he’s unable to browse the web, although he can check email, talk on vent and various other bits and pieces which leads me to believe they have only blocked some ports…. Is there a way we can tweak his computer so he can at least surf until his account gets sorted?

Thanks

p.s I’ve tried sending him proxy configurations to see if that would work, but to no avail…

They are giving him limited access. Since you have to go through them there is no way you can get by it. He could try setting his computer up to use dns servers. Here’s a link to opendns they will show him how to set up his computer to use Opendns. I do not think it will work because he still connects through bt.
