At 17 I called a local cable provider and told them I was not yet 18 and asked about signing up for service. They said it was no prob askd for my address,name,ssn,etc. they claim I owe appx.$500 its now in collections. The collection agency knows I was a minor at the time and is threatning me with legal action. the collection notice says to call or email if you cannot pay in full I did this with no luck reaching an agent. What are my rights etc?
Oh and by the way I had intent to pay. However, they changed the channel lineup and internet speed which in turn caused it to be more expensive. I did not agree to the changes I demanded they revert it back and then it was disconnected.
